In August 2014, we launched a 5-year philanthropic experiment to prove we could change a community by uncovering and investing in great people. We call it People's Liberty.

To date, People’s Liberty has awarded grants to  55 individuals with bold ideas to impact our region. To work alongside our core staff and grantees, we've also hired 25 early-career individuals into a 3-month design/storytelling residency program.

This fall, marks 2.5 years of work. Phew.

Intermission is a multi-week celebration to mark this halfway point, reflect on what has been accomplished so far and begin a conversation about what’s to come.

Press pause with us. Stop by People's Liberty on Thursday, November 16 as we kick off a month of programming at the Globe Building and reveal a special storefront installation. From 5:30–7:30PM we welcome guests from near and far to join us for a casual open house with plenty of food, drink and good conversation.

Where: 1805 Elm Street

In addition to opening night, we invite you to join us for PL20, twenty days of grantee and resident-led special events and programs. These hour-long to day-long projects will take place between November 17–December 14 at People's Liberty. Learn more about each event and the individual hosting below.
